The Grand Reveal

Over the past couple of months I’ve been working on a project which I’ve refrained from writing about on OtW. That project is a wall hanging saw cabinet (daddy has a saw problem, remember?) which will be the subject of a project article for the October 2018 issue of Popular Woodworking. With the build now complete, and the copy, drawings, and process photographs, all submitted to the magazine, I have added the saw cabinet to the Portfolio section of OtW. Click through here to see a selection of the excellent beauty shots of the saw cabinet Gareth took two weeks ago. And if you want to know how to build this cabinet? Stay tuned for the October issue of PopWood!

  1. The color just makes the whole thing pop. It’s brilliant. I never can muster the courage to try things like that. I have more fear of color than I have ever had of any joinery task. Yet every time I see a result like this, I kick myself thinking how I should have tried something similar on this or that recent project.

    • Thank you! I was worried the colour may be a bit too daring, but am pleased with how it worked out. I think workshop fixtures and furniture can be a really good opportunity to try a bolder colour, as you don’t have to live with it in your house (or that of a client) if you’re unhappy with the end result. I’ll definitely be using this shade of milk paint again.
